Workshop@IEEE IV ’23
We are pleased to announce our workshop as part of the IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium 23. Our workshop aims to provide a platform for researchers, practitioners, and students to share knowledge and experience related to connected and automated vehicles. Keynotes on our CPM Lab, the CPM Olympics, and the project AUTOtech.agil with its full-scale vehicles will serve as a base for discussion among the workshop attendees. Below is the schedule of our workshop:
WS14 – Workshop on Cyber-Physical Mobility (CPM) Olympics
Date: June 4, 2023
Duration: 13:40–17:50

Note: IEEE ITSS members will receive a free workshops day on registration
Organizers:
Armin Mokhtarian, Dr.-Ing. Bassam Alrifaee, RWTH Aachen University
Agenda:
- 5 min: Welcome and Introduction
- 45 min: The Cyber-Physical Mobility Lab and its Remote Access [Armin Mokhtarian, Dr.-Ing Bassam Alrifaee, RWTH Aachen University]
- Abstract: Dr.Ing. Bassam Alrifaee will present our Cyber-Physical Mobility Lab (CPM Lab). It is an open-source, remotely accessible testbed for connected and automated vehicles focusing on multi-agent decision-making. The CPM Lab provides a deterministic computation model that allows for reproducible experiments. Using its digital twin, the CPM Lab can seamlessly extend its 20 scale model vehicles (µCars) with virtual µCars.
- 10 min: This Years CPM Olympics [Armin Mokhtarian, RWTH Aachen University]
- 20 min: Third Place Winner’ Presentation by Team Avocado
- 20 min: Second Place Winner’ Presentation by K. Rosenberg
- 20 min: First Place Winner’ Presentation by A. Brunnmeier
- 15 min: Coffee break
- 45 min: Whats next? – From Scale Model to Real World – AUTOtech.agil [Armin Mokhtarian, Simon Schäfer, RWTH Aachen University]
- Abstract: We explore the transformation of ideas from the CPM Lab into practical applications. Presenting and focusing on the AUTOtech.agil project, we showcase how the fundamental concepts developed in the CPM Lab are effectively integrated into real-world, large-scale projects.
- 5 min: Closing Remarks and Future Directions
